With a repertoire ranging from Mozart to Moravec, Kendall’s love of music and her passion for sharing this gift with others became apparent from the time that she began to study the piano at the age of six. As a result of winning the Colorado State Music Teachers Association Concerto Competition, she had her orchestral debut with the Musica Sacra Chamber Orchestra at the age of ten. Kendall has since received prizes in numerous competitions; most recently, she was named as a finalist in the Jefferson Symphony International Young Artists Competition.
An avid chamber musician, Kendall enjoys exploring the standard repertoire as well as contemporary works. In 2014, her trio at the Oberlin Conservatory received the honor of performing in the Oberlin at Oakton concert series in the Washington, D.C. area; in 2015, they were invited by the Conservatory to present a recital of solo and chamber works in Traverse City, Michigan. The trio was also able to perform in one of a series of masterclasses at Oberlin given by the Leipzig String Quartet.
Kendall recently graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Oberlin, where she studied under the guidance of Alvin Chow. She was a recipient of the Conservatory Dean, National Merit, Freundlich, and Axel Skjerne scholarships from Oberlin. Kendall has spent summers at the Piano Master Class at The Banff Centre and the Bowdoin International Music Festival, working with teachers including John Perry, James Anagnoson, and Yong Hi Moon. She has previously studied with Brenna Berman, Susan Cable, Patricia Parraguez-Chen, and Katey Wheelhouse, and has participated in masterclasses with artists such as Angela Cheng, Douglas Humpherys, Howard Karp, Olga Kern, Julian Martin, and Jose Ramon Mendez.
In addition to playing piano, Kendall has explored many facets of music, including theory and conducting. She also loves working with horses and has done everything from showing hunter/jumpers to volunteering with therapeutic riding programs. She enjoys cooking, reading, and writing her blog, A Well-Tuned Heart.
Kendall has a passion for teaching and has worked with students at a variety of ages and skill levels. She is currently teaching piano in the Raleigh/Wake Forest area of North Carolina.
